Why You Should Drink Water
This post is very informative, and is all about why you need to drink water, obviously.
Hopefully you will learn all you need to know, if you are someone who does not need the scientific answers, then great! If you want those answers, this isn’t the place for you!
I have created this post in a list, so that it will be easier for you to read, learn and remember.
Why Do We Need To Drink Water?
Drinking water is very important for a number of reasons, I truly believe in how water can change your body and mind completely once you start drinking more.
You need to drink water as it helps with your body fluids. This includes saliva, blood circulation, and digestion. Water also helps to maintain your body temperature, and transport nutrients all around your body – VERY IMPORTANT.
Helps to control calorie intake. Water has 0 calories, and it can also make you feel fuller when you are hungry, therefore, you wont eat/snack as often.
Maintain the balance of fluid in your cells. This includes your muscles… – no water = upset tiny muscles.
Keeps your skin looking healthy. Helps prevent wrinkles and dried skin. Can make you appear younger and have a dewy complexion.
Helps the flush out your kidneys. Drinking water is very important for this reason, if you are someone who gets a lot of water infections, then drink more actual water! By actual water, I mean just plain water, not flavoured or fizzy, they are full of sugar! (And make sure you wee when you need too.)
Be able to poo easier… Sorry, but this is true! Basically, if you don’t drink enough water, your body takes back the fluid for hydration, causing you to become constipated… nice.
How Much Do We Need?
You need to drink around six to eight glasses a day. This helps to keep you hydrated, and helps with all of the reasons I have listed above. It can be so easy to drink this amount of water a day, especially if you drink from a refillable bottle, you might even end up drinking more than the recommended amount.
If you are drinking more then the recommended amount, you must make sure you are using the toilet when you need to go. Other wise you can become ill, and have a really gross stomach ache. Wash your hands too, get rid of those germs.
Benefits Of Drinking Water – Body
There are so many benefits for your body when you drink more water, and you can really tell the difference when you do, below are some reasons why you should be drinking water to help your body.
On average, you have around 60% water in your body, this depends on your sex and age though. So you may want to research this yourself.
Water helps with your digestion by helping your food pass through your body, and allow the acid in your stomach to do its magic. It can also decrease the chance of a stomach ache after you have eaten spicy foods, or foods you know your body isn’t too keen on.
As I mentioned before, water helps with maintaining your muscles, by keeping the cells hydrated, and helping nutrients moving around your body.
Water is of course known for helping the growth and care of your skin, hair and nails. This is because it makes them strong, and keeps them hydrated. You will notice, if you do not drink water, your skin will become dry, and your hair and nails will be very brittle. Whereas when you do drink a lot of water, you will have noticeably healthy hair, skin and nails.
You must drink water when it is hot. Your body will use its fluids to make you sweat in order to regulate your body temperature, so it is important to keep your fluids high and drink water all the time, otherwise you are at risk of sun stroke, and passing out.
Benefits Of Drinking Water – Mind
Water helps you to feel more awake by increasing brain activity. When your brain is awake, you are awake. So when you wake up in the morning, be sure to drink a nice big glass of water to get you ready for the day.
Due to increased brain activity, you are also a lot happier, and a lot more positive. Bonus, who doesn’t want to feel happier and more positive?! And all you need to do is drink water.
Helps you to function properly throughout the day, this means you will perform daily tasks better. So if you are taking your exams, or having a hard time at work, drink more water! You will find that you are more motivated, and you do not get as bored or tired as easily.
Improves your memory by keeping your cells hydrated. Who also wants a better memory?! Then you know what I am going to say “drink more water”.
You can think faster, and you will also find you are more creative, and have a better imagination. This is probably due to being more awake and more motivated.

Here is a list of different detox waters, they all have different health benefits that most of you will probably want. They all are sound so yummy, and would look really pretty in your bottle or glass.
To make detox water, all you need to do is cut up however much you want, add it to a jar filled with water and ice. If you put it in a big jar or jug, then you will be able to have it sooner than making a new batch each time, also gives it time to infuse into the water.
Lemon, Orange, and Lime – This detox water helps to wake you up, and give you energy from all that vitamin C!
Mint and Ginger – Helps with your digestive system. (Just like mint or ginger tea)
Pomegranate and Strawberry – Full of nutrients to boost your overall health.

Apple and Cinnamon – Boosts your metabolism, and can help with cravings.
There are also hundreds more, but those are just a few that I have either tried, or find really yummy. Try them out and let me know how you got on, and if they made a difference.
