Ingredients For Easy Overnight Oats –
You can add any fruit you want, or any other flavoring, but this is supposed to be easy, and you should hopefully find these ingredients in your house…
You might want to change any of these ingredients if you have allergies, or better preferences, but as long as it has oats, a liquid of some sort, and fruit, then you’ve pretty much mastered it. Oh and a jar, you need a jar.. Or a bowl.
1 Small or medium sized Kilner/Mason Jar (depending on how much you eat for breakfast, i just used a smaller one, and these measurements filled that size.) Buy One Here – Kilner Preserve Jar
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of milk/water/or yogurt of choice
Tbsp of flax seed – This is what i use – Linwoods Organic Milled Flaxseed 425 g
Tsp of cinnamon
Handful of strawberries
Handful of blueberries
Make sure you wash the jar, and the fruits, and whatever else you are using. Keep it clean and fresh!
I started with adding the oats, the milk and the flax seeds.
I mixed them all together for a few seconds with a spoon.
Then add in your cinnamon, you can add however much you like, i prefer to only had a slight amount.
You need to carefully chop up your fruit into small bite sized pieces, this makes it easier for the oats to absorb the flavour, and for you to eat in the morning.
I added all of the fruit in one go for the purpose of the picture, but it might be easier to add one at a time and mix it in the oats.
I then of course mixed all the ingredients, i had some leftover slices of banana so i just layered that on top to make it look a little prettier (although you cannot actually see it)
How Easy Overnight Oats Work
It is really simple actually.
The oats absorb any of the liquids that they are in, by putting it in the fridge, it helps this process, and keeps the fruits fresh, and the oats nice and chilled.
Overnight oats are so good for many reasons, they can help with weight gain, or even weight loss if you are someone who eats unhealthy breakfasts. If you are someone who skips breakfast, you have no reason to now.
You can pack in so many vitamins and nutrients in one jar, and consume it all in one morning! How great is that!
Oats contain so much goodness, and you should be eating them most days of the week, to help your body gain some fiber, help your digestive system, and even lower your cholesterol.
(The recommended intake of fiber for women is 25g, for men it is 38g)
Overall, easy overnight oats are the best because they are easy, quick, contain a whole lot of goodness, and helps you become a healthier person.
