Turn Your Bad Day, Into A Good One!
I love writing these kinds of post for you, when I give you tips like this, its also a good reminder to myself to listen to my own advice! We all want to have a better day, especially if we are feeling stressed, moody, or just generally unhappy! I personally hate having a bad day, and will do anything to make it better.
Here is how to identify a bad day; Its pretty simple. Things are going wrong, you feel like you have not done a good job, people are telling you that you seem moody (this really does not help), the weather may just be bad? You might have just found out you have 100 pieces of homework to do for tomorrow. Overall, a bad day can stem from absolutely anywhere, and could even be the slightest thing from packing a boring lunch, to forgetting your scarf when its cold outside.
When you come home from work and you are feeling tired and grumpy, nothing is worse than going to bed feeling the same way… Because in the morning, you are still going to be in a bad mood. So you need to read these tips on how to have a better day, and avoid having a bad one! (If you are having a bad day, you can turn it around)
I have added these in from a super old post,
because they are still good valid tips! Ive just added a few more in the mix.
Have A Better Day!
Love Mondays –
Mondays aren’t all that bad, its the start of a new week, you can begin fresh, write down all of the ideas you have for the week, and get started. I think its best to pretend you like Mondays for a while, and eventually you will! I promise you will have a better day, if you begin to enjoy moving on Mondays.
Go to bed early
If you are tired, its not going to help if you dont go to sleep! I’m not saying go to bed at 7’o clock, but there’s no need to stay up until past midnight! Having a good nights sleep does wonders for your body and your brain, you will be ready to take on the next day without feeling gloomy at midday, and hating your life.
Wake up when your alarm goes off!
It is so easy to keep pressing the snooze button, but then comes the stress of having to get ready with only 20 mins! My advice is to set a reasonable alarm, and if you want to ‘snooze’ set it for 10 mins before. (That’s what I do) You will have a better day if you wake up prepared for it.
Have a hot drink, make sure you have a big breakfast, remember;
breakfast is the most important meal! You must must must ensure that your body is getting nutrients in the morning, otherwise you end up snacking throughout the day, on foods that may not be that good for you… When you are hungry, you are GRUMPY.
Go to work!
If you are someone who hates their job, then my advice from experience would be to begin looking for a new job and leave. Always make sure that you are doing something you love and enjoy, otherwise there is no point! Its also good to just get up, and get on with your day, face your fears and worries, and just do it, you will have a better day when you feel more accomplished.
Take snacks to work, ensure that you eat and hydrate your body throughout the day,
this helps to keep you active. If you are dehydrated, you will get a headache, and become very touchy! This equals a bad day… So just drink water, and fuel your body!
When it is your break time, HAVE A BREAK,
its your break, you do not need to continue working! Take that 15 mins to chill out and calm down, and get ready for the rest of the day. Make sure you have time to yourself to get your head around what it is you will be doing.
Have a healthy dinner,
this is so important to making your day better! If you have had a rubbish day at work, it really does not help if you have a boring dinner. Make sure you know what you are cooking, or have your food prepped, or just make something you love to eat!
Go for a drive, and listen to loud music!
I like to take the longer way home from work sometimes, just so I can listen to some music, and clear my head before I walk in my front door. Driving can also calm you down quite a bit, but make sure you aren’t being stupid, and drive carefully!
Fresh bed sheets, and fresh pjs!
Before you get into bed, get cosy, make your bed, and put on your new pyjamas. Beforehand, take a bath and relax, drink some hot chocolate or tea, and chill, let your worries wash away, then when you get into bed, you will fall asleep so much easier.
I really think this makes my day better, even if its just playing games on my laptop, or my Nintendo Ds that I found (I am really happy about it). Playing games helps you to forget about what was stressing you or worrying you, it also can make you a little bit happier!
Do some online shopping. Just buy that jacket you want…
You are going to end up buying it anyway, so why not buy it to make you feel a little bit happier? This will definitely make you have a better day, and you will be excited for something too!
Find something to do and make plans with someone!
Having things to look forward to can really make your day better, especially when you forget, and then remember it! So text your friend, or boyfriend/girlfriend, and arrange a night out, or somewhere to go. This makes all your hard work worth while, and your days will go a whole lot faster!
Thank you so much for reading, I could go on and on, there are so many ways to cheer yourself up.
